THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's practice in law is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She focuses a majority of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes, divorce property distribution child custody battles, child support arrangements, postnuptial and prenuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues such as step-parent or private party adoptions, as well as issues involving children's welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning issues, such as trusts, wills, probate and estate administration along with commercial contract, civil litigation cases. Ashley has served as a mediator appointed by a court since the year, assisting parties in helping them resolve their disputes without the need for litigation and court involvement. Ashley mediates private cases and also court-appointed mediation for those who want to stay clear of court processes and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She then pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students of her class. Ashley was an Editor of the Notes at the Western New England Law Review during her time at law school. This was a sign of her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship program, working with prominent jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was privileged to serve as a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to work as an attorney for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her primary focus in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services on cases dealing with child welfare. Through her dedicated efforts, Ashley played a vital role in assisting children who had suffered neglect or abuse at the from their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to tackling social injustice went beyond her legal profession as she was a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to educate the public about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law including divorce child support, custody and guardianships - aswell as estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxies and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC with an intention to provide an individual approach to each client's requirements.
